The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) have signed a Joint Memorandum Circular to officially restructure the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT), effective September 2025.
This reform aims to align BLEPT with the latest teacher education curriculum and introduce specialized exam categories for both elementary and secondary levels.
New BLEPT Categories
Elementary Education:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Special Needs Education (SNE)
Secondary Education:
- Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)
- Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (TVTE)
- Physical Education (PE)
- Culture and Arts Education
This ensures a more focused, competency-based assessment for future educators.
